Getting Started

This comprehensive guide helps you create, fund, and complete your first OTC trade on OTC Hub.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A Web3 wallet (MetaMask, Rainbow, etc.)
  • Some ETH for gas fees
  • ERC20 tokens for trading (USDT, USDC, etc.)

Quick Start Guide

1. Connect Your Wallet

  1. Visit the OTC Hub platform
  2. Click "Connect Wallet" in the top-right corner
  3. Choose your preferred wallet and authorize the connection
  4. Ensure you're connected to the correct network (Ethereum Mainnet or Sepolia Testnet)

2. Browse or Create an Offer

To browse existing offers:

  • Navigate to the "Offers" page
  • Use filters to find offers matching your criteria
  • Click on any offer to view details

To create a new offer:

  • Click "Create Offer" on the dashboard
  • Fill in the offer details:
    • Asset Type: Choose from tokens, NFTs, or custom assets
    • Trading Direction: Select MakerSells (you're selling) or MakerBuys (you're buying)
    • Price: Set your desired price in USD
    • Quantity: Specify the amount you want to trade
    • Deposit Multiplier: Set collateral requirement (1x, 2x, 3x, etc.)
    • Trading Rules: Define payment methods and confirmation requirements

3. Lock Required Collateral

For MakerSells (selling) trades:

  • As Maker: Deposit only collateral
  • As Taker: Deposit price + collateral

For MakerBuys (buying) trades:

  • As Maker: Deposit price + collateral
  • As Taker: Deposit only collateral

The smart contract will automatically calculate required amounts based on your deposit multiplier.

4. Complete Offline Delivery

  1. Coordinate with counterparty through your agreed communication channel
  2. Follow the trading rules specified in the offer
  3. Provide proof of delivery as required (transaction hash, screenshots, etc.)
  4. Confirm receipt once you've received the assets

5. Confirm On-Chain and Settle

  1. Both parties click "Confirm" on the trade page
  2. The smart contract automatically settles funds:
    • MakerSells: Maker receives (price - 0.5% fee + collateral), Taker receives collateral back
    • MakerBuys: Taker receives (price - 0.5% fee + collateral), Maker receives collateral back
    • Platform Fee: 0.5% collected from both buyer and seller (1% total)

Security Best Practices

  • Verify counterparty details before confirming trades
  • Keep proof of all transactions for dispute resolution
  • Never share private keys or sensitive wallet information
  • Use the dispute mechanism if issues arise during trading
